Drug Arrest

On June 26th 2008 at 5: 51 PM Martinsburg Police Officer Derek English saw an individual in the area of the 100 block of North Spring Street who was being approached by several persons known to the officer to be involved in the illegal use of controlled substances. This person was also known to the officer from a past recent arrest for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (crack cocaine).

During his initial contact with this person and investigation the person was acting in a nervous manner but consented to a pat down of his person by Ptlm. English. This pat down led to the discovery of Marijuana sticking out of the persons shoe.

The suspect was the placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana and taken to the Martinsburg Police Department. Once at the station a baggie of Crack Cocaine weighing approximately 5.7 grams was located on him and $112.00 in currency. The suspect was then charged with Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine).

He was later taken to the Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment by a State Magistrate later in the evening.

Arrested: Dorian Marcell Wilson DOB 11 16 87 and listing an address of 401 East Road Martinsburg WV.


Theft

The Martinsburg City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating two large decorative art palettes that were stolen between June 8th and June 12th. Both palettes were stolen from the area of the intersection of Martin and Queen Streets. Other art palettes are currently on display throughout the downtown area of Martinsburg as part of the Main Street Martinsburg project.

Drug Arrest - Marijuana Growing

On June 24, 2008 Officers D. L. English and Cpl. J. E. Darby responded to the 100 block of South High Street to investigate a complaint of an individual growing marijuana. The Officers walked along the back of the 100 block of South High Street and located a residence that matched the description given of the location. The Officers observed marijuana plants in plain view in the back yard of the residence at 126 South High Street.


A male individual, subsequently identified as Lance Wade Cole, Jr., 37, of the aforementioned address, saw the Officers and began to collect the plants and take them inside the residence. The Officers approached Cole and informed him of the nature of the investigation. Cole at first denied the allegation, but granted the Officers consent to enter the residence to seize the marijuana. Nine marijuana plants were seized from the basement. An additional nine plants were seized from the back yard. Cole advised he was growing the plants for personal use. He additionally stated he was tired of paying so much to buy marijuana.


Cole was arrested and incarcerated in the Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment by a Berkeley County Magistrate on the felony charge of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance.

Drug Arrest

On Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 1715 hrs., the Martinsburg Police Department arrested Kristen Calvin Pennix on a felony warrant for Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in the 200 block of Porter Avenue, Martinsburg WV. The warrant was from an incident occurring on 02/19/08 in which Ptlm. Neely made contact with a male, identified as Kristen Pennix, in the 600 block of West King Street and located a quantity of Xanax prescription pills on his person.

The defendant was processed and taken to the Eastern Regional Jail. He currently is incarcerated.

Drug Arrests

On June 13th 2008 at 5:18 PM Martinsburg Police officer Derek English stopped a vehicle in the area of Addition Street and Linden Lane for failure to use a turn signal.

In his investigation he observed a wrapped piece of re-bar between the driver’s seat and the door. Ptlm. English was given verbal consent to search the vehicle, by the driver. During his interview with the passenger he was told by the passenger that he had Marijuana in his pocket.

The investigation revealed that he had 14 individual bags of Marijuana weighing a total of approximately 27.5 grams.

Both people were arrested and brought to the Martinsburg Police Department for processing and to be arraigned later that afternoon.

Arrested: Jamie M. Walker (passenger in vehicle) DOB 03 31 86 listing no fixed address. He was arrested for possession with intent to deliver Marijuana.

Arrested: Elan Bell-Veney (driver of vehicle) DOB 7 13 86 of 109 Gemstone Drive Martinsburg WV He was arrested for carrying a concealed and deadly weapon, Municipal charge.

In an unrelated incident Ptlm. Harper issued citations for simple possession of Marijuana and possession of a prescriptive drug without a prescription to two subjects on June 15th 2008.

Christopher D Hogan DOB 2 7 73 was issued a citation for possession of Marijuana on 6 15 08 at approximately 11:45 PM while in the area of the 200 block of west King Street.

Brandon Scott Holland DOB 4 15 89 was issued a citation for possession of a prescriptive drug without a prescription on 6 15 08 at approximately 11:55 PM while in the area of Sycamore and Ryneal Street Martinsburg WV.

Cocaine Arrest

On Thursday, June 12, 2008, officers from the Martinsburg City Police arrested Larry DeBose, AKA: Yardie, in the 200 block of North Raleigh Street. Mr. DeBose was arrested for Delivery of crack cocaine, stemming from a May 19, 2008 incident. During the incident, it is alleged that Mr. DeBose sold crack cocaine to a police confidential informant. Mr. DeBose is currently incarcerated in the Eastern Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Prostitution Arrest

On June 10th 2008 at 12:30 PM Martinsburg Police was contacted by a member of the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and advised that he had been solicited by a female while in the 200 block of West King Street Martinsburg WV.

He advised Det Lt GB Swartwood by phone that he was bringing the female to the Martinsburg Police Department.

Once at the police department he advised in a statement that the female suspect approached him for a ride and offered to perform oral sex for $20.00. He identified himself as a police officer and brought her to the police department where she was issued a citation by Sgt Zollinger for solicitation of prostitution.


Arrested: Emily Anne Hardy DOB 09 03 83 of 700 N. High Street Martinsburg WV.

Search Warrant - Arrests

On June 7th 2008 at 10:15 PM Martinsburg Police officers Shanna Spiker and Ptlm. Derek English executed a search warrant at 114 Franklin Ave. Martinsburg WV.

The basis for this search warrant was a previous wanton endangerment and attempted robbery incident which was alleged to have occurred at this residence on the same date. This incident was being investigated by Ptlwm. Spiker. During this investigation a sawed off shotgun was recovered as one of the weapons involved.

During the execution of this search warrant a .22 caliber revolver along with a replica revolver were seized as evidence along with approximately 30 grams of Marijuana and over $1,100 in currency as well as drug paraphernalia.

Two individuals were arrested in conjunction with this search warrant for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (Marijuana). One of the subjects was a 16 year old male and an adult.

Arrested: Pamela Kay Blankenbaker DOB 7 26 66 of 114 Franklin Ave. Martinsburg WV. She was processed at the Martinsburg Police Department and then takento the Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing and continuing at this time.

Drug Arrests

On Friday, June 6, 2008 Martinsburg City Police arrested two men following a traffic stop as a result of a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign.

Officer D. L. English observed the driver of a Lincoln Continental commit the infraction at the intersection of Albert Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. English made the stop in the 600 block of Albert Street and identified the driver as Dorian Marcell Wilson, 20 years of age, of East Road, Martinsburg. While speaking with the driver, Officer English noted odd behavior and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer D. P. North and Cpl. J. E. Darby arrived at the scene of the stop to assist. North spoke with the passenger, identified as Adonis Ryshaun Bonano, 20 years of age, no fixed address. Darby said that he could also smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw a marijuana cigarette in plain view in the ashtray.

English had the driver get out the vehicle for investigative purposes and conducted a pat down search of Wilson. A search revealed a clear plastic bag in Wilson’s left front pants pocket that contained marijuana. A second bag containing crack cocaine was also located in the same pocket. Cpl. Darby had Bonano step from the vehicle and asked for consent to search his person. The consent was granted and Darby located a clear plastic bag in Bonano’s left front pants pocket that contained marijuana. Darby also located a clear plastic bag that contained a large quantity of crack cocaine in the same pocket. Wilson and Bonano had a combined total of $957 in U. S. Currency. The investigation revealed Wilson had 3.2 grams of crack cocaine and 3.1 grams of marijuana. Bonano had 15.4 grams of marijuana and 9.6 grams of crack cocaine.

Wilson was taken to the Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment by a Berkeley County Magistrate on charges of Possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and Conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. Bonano was also taken to the Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment on charges of Possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, Conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and Possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

Drug Arrests

On June 5th 2008 at 4:08 PM Martinsburg Police and detectives assisted the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force in arresting several individuals in conjunction with their investigation.

The arrest took place at 703 New York Ave. Martinsburg WV without incident. Several of the suspects were arrested while they were inside of a vehicle outside of the residence.
After their arrest the defendants were taken to the Martinsburg Police Department for processing and then to the Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment by a State Magistrate later that evening.

The following individuals were arrested on state charges in regards to the EPDVCTF investigation.

Charles Gregory Stickell 703 New York Ave. Martinsburg WV was arrested for simple possession of a controlled substance (Heroin).

Craig M Johnson DOB 1 26 88 of 261 Gates Ave. 1E Brooklyn New York was arrested for Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance and Simple Possession.

Tremaine Mason DOB 7 17 82 listing no fixed address was arrested for Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance (Heroin), it was later discovered that his actual name was Jamal Mason aka Jamal Johnson and he was a fugitive out of Kings County New York for drug charges.

Noel C. Orson DOB 9 11 85 of 367 S. 2nd Street Apt. 5A Brooklyn New York was arrested for Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine).

A 16 year old female, Berkeley County resident was also arrested and charged with drug charges by way of a juvenile petition and later released to her parents.

Approximately one ounce of Crack cocaine, ten grams of Heroin and currency was seized from the suspects in conjunction with their arrests.
