Malicious Wounding Arrest

On Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 6:43 p.m. the Martinsburg Police Department received a complaint of an individual attempting to get into several vehicles on Foxcroft Avenue. A description of the individual was provided and the male suspect was located by officers in the 1000 block of Foxcroft Avenue.

As officers were investigating the complaint information was received from City Hospital that a stabbing victim was being treated in the emergency room as a result of an incident which had occurred in the 1000 block of Foxcroft Avenue. It was subsequently determined the aforementioned complaints were connected.

The investigation revealed that an individual identified as Nicholas James Hall, 18 years of age, of 607 South Raleigh Street, Martinsburg, became involved in an altercation with another male individual in the 1000 block of Foxcroft Avenue. As the altercation escalated Hall stabbed the victim, Stephan Christian, 38 years of age, of Martinsburg, twice in the neck. The injuries are non-life threatening. Hall was arrested at the scene and subsequently taken to the Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment by a Berkeley County Magistrate on a felony charge of Malicious Wounding.
